It's hard to believe I graduated last Monday. Sometimes I still feel like I am in school.
The internship at GMACL is going great. We've been taking a lot of photos of the kids, and
I'm about to make a side show for their parents. The Band Together posters turned out
really great, and I am going to start helping to put them up soon. I think I will do
St. George Street since that's close to where I live.
Also I may have my first client! We're meeting tomorrow at 4pm to discuss. It will be posters
for a healthy food, but I don't want to say too much since I don't know the details yet.
Wait and see
Also, Paula from Jumpstart720 says she may have some work for me to do in the future,
which is AWESOME!
I've been worried about getting jobs, and I still am, but I'm feeling more confident now.
I still have a lot to learn, but I am willing to learn. I really want to do well, and learn
all sorts of things.
I'm going to really do my best at applying at places, and networking. I'm terrified
but I am going to try to challenge myself! Sometimes it's scary to hit the SEND
button when sending an email when applying for a job, or emailing back a
potential client. But, I'm going to go forward and show them that if they are willing
to help show me the way, in return I will work my ass off!
(and I do, trust me, I have two jobs now. People, especially co-workers at
Jean Coutu tell me to stop working. LMAO! But I enjoy keeping busy, which is why
I would rather be on the floor putting stock out, then standing around at the
cash waiting for customers.)
ANYWAY, Going to make a slideshow, finish off note cards for jumpstart (waiting
for feedback on the kit folder) research for my new client, and if I have time I
am going to do some tutorials from the photoshop magazine I bought a couple
of days ago!

Officially a Graphic Designer
I graduated last night! :D
I am officially a graphic designer. Who wants to hire me?
haha!
I'm currently working as a marketing/graphic design intern at GMACL. It's my second internship.
My first was with Jumpstart720.
So, after this I need to start looking for some work. I thought it would be fine, but I'm no
more ahead than I was earlier in the year. I thought maybe my internships might help me
with a job, however I'm starting to get nervous about that.
So, any designers out there have any tips on how an older (I'm 28) recently graduated designer
can get a job? :D
Thanks!! <3
Headlight 14
One of my paintings was published in Concordia University's Headlight Anthology 14. I foolishly named is "Abstract Tree" because I really have no name for it. Sometimes I am not too creative when it comes to giving names to my artwork. In any case, they accepted it and it is published!
Awesome add to my portfolio.
I believe Headlight 14 can be purchased at Reid's newsstand, but I had to have mine brought down from Quebec from a friend of a friend. My best friend Kayla has a poem that was published in the same book. So it's really exciting for us!
The painting is in my gallery and I will feature it to the left.

JAPAN WAS SO AWESOME!
I had a blast in Japan! I miss it. In fact I missed it as soon as I got on the plane to go home. Someday I wish to work for a company that has ties to Japan. There is actually a photography/filmography company in Saint John who has ties to Japan. they have an office there, as the owner (who has a background in Graphic Design) lived there for a couple of years with his wife. It would be a sweet deal to work for them.
I kind of want to work for a company IN Canada, but with ties to Japan. Mainly because I don't want to live away from home for a long period of time. My boyfriend has no interest in living in Japan, and I have that to consider to
I'm going to JAPAN!
I'm going to Japan May 7th, to 20th. I am super excited. it's a dream in the process of coming true! :D
My instructor has allowed me the two weeks off school, and so I'm going to work hard to get ahead before I go away.
My internship is all set up at Jumpstart 720, which is in the same building, and on the same floor as my school. So I feel really lucky to be near my instructor, and the rest of the staff if I need any help, or need to see a familiar face. However, everyone at jumpstart is incredibly nice and I feel I will get along great.
I hope I dont get all shy like I usually do though, haha.
Anyway, yessss, I can't wait for my trip!

Congrats, congrats on graduating and getting your first client. I wish you lots of luck in the future and perhaps one day you'll be able to visit many more places and experience many more cultures around the world!
